The company has made a king like entry in India in the year 1928 with its National Series AB touring. The 171 cubic inches, 24.7hp four cylinder engine of Chevrolet has proved the reliability of this car. First office of Chevrolet was established at Mumbai and its assembly plant was in Sewree. General Motors , the parent company of Chevrolet, was the first in setting up assembly plant in India.
